NETIS Group is looking for Operations and Project Manager for its subsidary in Rwanda.
The Operations and Project Manager, you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of unmanned aerial vehicles throughout our operations in Africa. You will monitor their UAVs during flight, making sure that they’re in a stable position and operating properly. They may also be responsible for interpreting data from sensors on the vehicle or camera equipment attached to it. You will need to have extensive knowledge about the aircraft they operate as well as its capabilities and limitations. This includes knowing how to operate all of the various systems on board the UAV, such as navigation, communication, propulsion, sensors, and payload.
Your Key Duties and Responsibilities will be but not limited to:
− Communicate with the team, to provide instruction or information about the flight path and project planning;
− Monitoring mission progress and project achievements, including equipment performance and environmental conditions such as wind speed and direction;
− Performing pre-flight checks of all equipment to ensure that it is working properly;
− Piloting the UAV which involves operating remote controls to maneuver the craft in the air;
− Navigating the UAV through different environments, while maintaining a programmed course or photographing a specific area;
− Communicating with mission control regarding equipment status or any problems encountered during flight operations;
− Planning and coordinating missions, including selecting appropriate equipment and team for the task;
− Conducting research on new technologies or methods for improving UAV performance or efficiency;
− Maintaining logs of flight time and other data related to UAV operation for pilot training records and regulatory compliance;
− Develop a strong H&S culture with high standards to ensure a comprehensive control on the activity and reduce risk linked to daily activities;
− Support technically the local teams in order to launch projects, remotely or by travelling to the Ops to support physically;
− Implementation of the processes for Drone Ops for the different application: Oil, Gas, Mining, Security, Telecom application, Energy/Grid/Solar plant, Agriculture, and Industry;
− Lead the monthly report of the activity to ensure profitability of all ongoing projects;
− Ensure project are meeting budgeted amounts and are managed for cost optimization;
− Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed within the scope of this role.
The Skills and Requirements for the role are:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineer, Electronics, or related field.
- A significant experience of at least 3 years in a similar position;
- Topographic, Power lines and Telecom background will be a plus
- Good knowledge of UAV navigation, software, and equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of GIS and any related certifications will be a plus.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
